Like disco? Like house? If you said yes to both then you’re probably already a fan of New York outfit Hercules and Love Affair, whose debut album two years ago featured Anthony Hegarty in various supporting roles and some killer dance tunes that sounded utterly modern while keeping a foot firmly rooted in the past. Now they’re back, and they’ve got fan Shaun Wright taking the reins on lead vocals. “My House” is everything you’d expect from HALA but more bass heavy and perhaps even a little dirtier than before. But the diva element that set them apart from other dance outfits at the time still remain and although you know it’s all inspired by the house of old, somehow HALA’s sound is fresher than some of their contemporaries.
