So yesterday Klaxons revealed their album artwork and tracklisting for their second album “Surfing the Void”. So why did I wait until today to post it? So I could print this:
“Houston, we have a feline.” Or maybe it’s: “2001: A Feline Odyssey”. Seriously, this is probably the best album cover I’ve seen in ages. That cat looks so serious that it really could be blasting off to the moon any minute now.
Back to Klaxons then. Zane Lowe premiered their first effort from the album, “Flashover”, a little while back but I don’t think anyone’s quite sure what to expect from this new album. In many ways “Myths of the Near Future” captured a time and a place, when Nu-Rave when popular and in its 15 miutes of fame. Now those days are behind us and the other darlings of the Nu-Rave movement, CSS and NYPC, have both made much more adult second records.
Well I guess we’ll just have to see won’t we? I got this embed code from the Klaxons website, so enjoy “Flashover”:
